Our Heritage

Seventy-six years of devotion

Founded in 1949 and reimagined for a new generation.

The Story

A magazine, always

Modern Bride was founded in 1949 by a small editorial team in Manhattan who believed the postwar bride deserved a publication of her own — one that took her seriously as a reader, a hostess and an aesthete.

For three quarters of a century, our pages have chronicled the rituals of the modern celebration: the gown, the table, the toast, the honeymoon. Generations of brides have grown up with us — and many returned to plan their own daughters' weddings from our pages.

Today, under new ownership, Modern Bride is reimagined as a digital-first publication. We have kept the editorial standards of the print era and added the speed, breadth and AI-powered storytelling of contemporary media. The voice is the same. The audience is wider.

Masthead

“We are not in the business of trends. We are in the business of memory — of making the day so beautifully recorded that you will read it again in fifty years and still feel the room.”
